Online Backup to the "Cloud"

We've recently been keeping an online backup of our family's computers with OPENRSM CloudBackup.  I first found CloudBackup from "googling" (of all things) online backup.

I have always backed up our family data to disks, CDs, usb drives, etc. This is a boring and error filled process though. I havn't been as consistant in my backup duties as I should have been. We were vunerable to disaster since the backups wern't offsite. A big storm, a fire, a robbery, and we would be seriously lost.

The best thing is all our music, financial, photo and other data is always kept up to date on the online backup so even if there is a robbery, disk crash, or even a tornado everything is safe.

A few of the important features are:

1) Automated backups = Knowing your data is save.

2) Your data available on a network drive = You can save and retrieve files using skills you already have.

3) Serious Encryption of your data = Serious security of your information.

4) It works on Windows, MAC, and Linux = One solution for all our computers.

5) You can use the one account to backup more than one computer.

It's only 4 dollars / month for OPENRSM CloudBackup with every feature available to me. If you store over 50GB of data you will need to pay a little more. But it's crazy cheap for a service that takes care of all our computers with one account.

It works amazingly well for online backup.  A simple installation even on multiple computers (only one account is needed, it keeps track of your multiple computers in seperate data stores automatically).

So I don't soak up our broadband connection the system has built-in bandwidth control so I can choose how much to give my backups. It will take a few days to backup everything the first time. And then any new or changed files will automatically be backed up.

If you want to get rid of manual backups and all the trouble it causes, do it this way.
