Making a Gift Basket For a Special Person

There aren't many people who dislike receiving a basket of gifts now and again. But making your own, whether for business or personal enjoyment is highly satisfying. Let your creative side free when making your gift baskets. Any craft skills that you have learnt over the years can now be employed. But many potential artists are stopped at the outset, unsure how to proceed. Rest assured, it's easy!  Some choices you can have include a gift basket of wine and gift basket of chocolate.

Selecting a theme is the very first thing that you should do before putting together your gift basket. A gift basket can have any theme you wish. If the person you are purachasing for enjoys reading then this will give you a clue. Consider a gift basket full of books and top it off with book mark. Add a piece of chocolate to hold them through their period of relaxation. Does someone you know like playing chess? Think of stuffing a gift basket with a miniature magnetized set and arranging the pieces in an interesting pattern.

Now it's time to think of the layout. Sketch out, on paper or just in your mind, what you'll need to execute your gift basket idea. A list of all the materials you'll need is also necessary along with the tools and sizes. Then, go buying. See, this is fun already.

Even if you have never done this before, you'll need to buy a basket. Basically, you can buy anything that grabs your attention as long as it's a suitable size to hold everything you want to inlcude - a traditional wicker container, an antique coffee can, an ancient toy bucket or a contemporary planter. Try to find something that complements your theme.

OK, so you've picked out the gifts and the basket, now you'll want to wrap it all up. Cellophane is one possible choice. However you could also choose wax paper which is great to work with but also adds an extra element of surprise in terms of opening it.
